A teahouse that has been in business in Inariyama, the area of Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine in Kyoto, for more than 100 years.
Yakurikitei began by providing a place of rest and relaxation for visitors to Inariyama.
It served as a location for accommodation, dining, and rest for people from all over Japan visiting Fushimi Inari Taisha, the head shrine of the 30,000 Inari shrines throughout the country, while protecting the shrines and offering stones on its premises.
As the purpose of visits to Fushimi Inari is largely shifting from religion to tourism, Shigeo Kimura, the ninth generation representative of the shrine, has opened two cafes as corporate entities, to offer places of rest for tourists who consist mainly of foreign visitors.
We hope to continue being able to tell the stories of our history while providing our visitors with opportunities to relax and refresh themselves.
