Lonely Planet is a series of travel guidebooks with the same name, as well as the publishing house that publishes the series.

The first guidebook was "Across Asia on the Cheap," which described the journey across Eurasia of Lonely Planet's founder Tony Wheeler and his wife on their honeymoon in 1973.

Currently, the series has more than 600 titles and accounts for 25% of the global market share of English-language guidebooks.
