Small Teapot Marutsutsu

Small Teapot Marutsutsu

Bringing the Traditional Japanese Art of Cast Iron to Modern Living

The Marutsutsu is a teapot designed from the essence of Japanese tea ceremony. In traditional tea ceremonies, the chanoyugama (tea kettle) is used to boil water for preparing tea. The Marutsutsu teapot has been inspired by the methods used to create chanoyugama and is part of the Yamagata cast iron series, crafted using the sand mold technique, which has been passed down through generations.

Notes on Products

Product Care and Usage Instructions

About Using the Teapot
- This teapot is made of cast iron.
- It’s suitable for brewing black tea or Japanese green tea.
- The interior is finished with enamel; avoid using the teapot without water (dry boiling).
- The exterior is coated with a baked acrylic resin for added durability.
- Avoid dropping the teapot or striking it against hard surfaces, as this may cause chipping or color fading.
- Since the teapot, lid, and stainless-steel tea strainer are all metal, contact between these parts may cause slight color changes on the surface over time.

Heating Guidelines
- The teapot can be used with candle warmers, but avoid using high flames on a gas stove. If using gas, use very low heat to prevent discoloration.

After Use
- Thoroughly wipe the interior and exterior dry to prevent rust.
- When not in use for extended periods, store in a dry, moisture-free location.

Other Notes
- Due to the handmade nature of the product, slight variations in finish and color may occur.
- When using the teapot, be aware that the lid and handle may become hot. Use pot holders or gloves as needed.
- The iron content of the pot may react with tea components, potentially leaving black stains on your table. It is recommended to use coasters to protect surfaces.
