nodate

There is a word in Japanese called "nodate," which means "to serve tea in the open air." Some of you may recall the image of gorgeous and solemn atmosphere of a gathering of people in beautiful kimonos at a garden or a temple in the Japanese old drawings.Tea ceremony can sound formal with strict etiquette and a lot of preparation of utensils and tools. However, with the recent outdoor boom in Japan, it has become more casual and easygoing to enjoy matcha outdoors.

Matcha and sweets

The matcha bowls are very popular in our shop. They are manufactured by "Sinkougama," a long-established Mino-ware ceramics manufacturer.

The entire process is completely handmade by craftsmen. The colors have a delicate nuance that cannot be expressed by mass-produced products, and the warmth of handwork can be felt.
